Short courses

The main short course offered to the locals of Jambiani and the South East Coast of Zanzibar is English, which takes place every morning from Monday to Friday and sees up to 100 students on our compound. The teaching is organised and provided by a local voluntourism company African Impact. Depending on their level of English, students study speaking, listening, writing and reading skills in five different groups. Some students are sent by their employers to improve their English. Some students join the English classes and move through the groups with the aim to eventually join the Diploma program.

Depending on the availability of teaching volunteers, the JTTI provides additional short courses in IT Beginner and IT Intermediate, as well as tourism specific short courses in Food Safety, Food Production, Front Desk Agent, Food & Beverage Service and Hotel Administration.
